Топ 100 по версии Стивена Джонса и Кима Ньюмана (не помню откуда содрал). Написано "100 Best Horror Novels", но тут не только романы — есть рассказы, пьесы.
Предлагаю обсудить состав этого топа, а именно — что выходило по-русски, персоналии, перспективы перевода, что есть тут действительно интересного. Если есть список, составленный другими лицами — его можно поставить в эту же тему.

Неплохой списочек... Как всегда, субъективный немного, но в основном здесь, конечно, классика жанра. Особенно порадовал №2  Интересно присутствие в списке такой вещи как "Звук его рога" Сарбана.

"Человек, который был Четвергом"... Тоже ужасы?  Не читал эту вещь. С Сю тоже сомнение. Читал еще в 90-е годы — ужасов не заметил. Шекспира принимаю.
А так, могу похвастаться, что многое из этого у меня есть и прочитано.

У Ширли Джексон все же не было на русском этой вещи, ошибочная информация.
"Хоксмур" Акройда тоже не выходил, лишь по слухам права покупали (или мне так кажется).
А вот перевод "Гренделя" Джона Гарднера был, это нужно отметить.
Р.У. Чэмберс — был одноименный рассказ, но не сам сборник.
Перевод "House on the Borderland" У.Х. Ходжсона всплывал в сети, продавался на сайтах с рингтонами для сотовых.

Уильям Годвин «Калеб Уильямс», готический роман (издавался в СССР), есть в сети.
Недавно выходил в "Ладомире" роман Годвина "Сен-Леон".
13. Jeremias Gotthelf "The Black Spider"
Новелла швейцарца Иеремии Готтхельфа «Черный паук», переведена (присутствует в Фантлабе).
35. James Branch Cabell "Something About Eve"
Д.Б. Кейбелл "Кое-что о Еве" — роман выходил по-русски.
41. C.S. Lewis "The Dark Tower" and "The Day After Judgement"
1938 An incomplete novel without an ending, of a parallel world featuring both Lewis himself as narrator and Ransom (from Perelandra).
Незаконченный роман, отсутствует в фантлабовской библиографии К.С.Льюиса.
65. Kingsley Amis "The Green Man"
Кингсли Эмис "Лесовик", переведён.

Мне кажется список рекомендуемого чтения в конце книги предстовляет больший интерес.
Что касается преспектив перевода, то мне они кажутся туманными для Лаймона, Кэмпбелла и Гранта. Из дополнительного списка — для всех книг до 1995 года, если нет возможности отнести их и к сопредельным жанрам (классическая проза, современная, магреализм и т.д.), т.к. основная масса романов в жанре триллера и хоррора — новинки 2000-2008. Старые романы печатают только что если "культовых" авторов — Эллрой, Леонард и т.д.

Для меня хоррор — не направление, а подход... или даже восприятие мира. Так что пусть рамки расширяются хоть до бесконечности.
P.S. Для своего времени роман Сарбана был открытием — да и сейчас, на мой взгляд, читается неплохо (Кинг его тоже уважает).

Avex, у вас есть ошибочка. "Cry Horror" Лавкрафта у нас точно не выходил. Чуть-чуть оттуда было в пиратском сборнике "Локон Медузы", чуть-чуть — в двухтомнике (не помню, какого издательства).
Pickman  . Список слишком субъективен. Априори, в 100 пунктов не утрамбовать все достойные образцы этого направления.
